A prayer for presense

Prayer of Faithful Presence

Heavenly Father, Maker of heaven and earth, You created us in Your image and placed us within Your good creation to serve You with faithful hearts and to walk ever in Your presence.

Give us grace, we ask, to be continually mindful of Your nearness, that we may not live as though You were distant from our daily lives and ordinary moments. Teach us to serve You not by hurried devotion or fleeting attention, but by steady obedience and faithful presence before You in all that we do.

Form our hearts to be subject to Your will, our minds attentive to Your Word, and our lives offered to You in humble worship. Awaken us when we grow distracted, and restore us when we fail to attend to Your presence in our lives, our relationships, and our calling. Teach us to see our daily lives and ordinary responsibilities as faithful service offered to You, and to glorify You through obedience in the place You have put us.

Keep us from living ahead of Your will, and train us instead to live attentively before You in this present moment. May our lives be shaped not by anxious striving or presumption, but by trustful obedience and faithful presence before You. Make our lives a living offering of praise, as we serve You faithfully in body and spirit; form our hearts to love and worship You more as we grow in Your grace.

We offer this prayer through Jesus Christ our Lord, who served You perfectly and restores us to a right relationship with You. Amen.
